YOU’RE IN
Congratulations — the hard part is done.
- Confirm your place on UCAS Hub.
- Look out for next steps on accommodation, enrolment and reading lists.
- Now go and celebrate — you’ve earned it.
A NEAR MISS
Don’t assume it’s over — you’re close.
- Wait for UCAS Hub to update; it may still confirm your place.
- If it shows unsuccessful, call the university’s admissions line straight away and ask if they’ll still take you.
- Be calm, polite and ready with your results. If they can’t give you an answer straight away, ask when you’ll hear back.
- If the grades aren’t there for the course you’ve set your heart on, resitting is a genuine option — and it’s something we help students plan and prepare for.
CLEARING
Not a consolation prize — thousands of great courses are here.
- You’ll find your Clearing number in UCAS Hub.
- Shortlist courses (UCAS search + university Clearing pages) before you call.
- Call the universities yourself, results and numbers ready — use the script below.
- If they offer you a place on the phone, add it as your Clearing choice in UCAS Hub.
AIMING HIGHER
You may be able to trade up — calmly.
- Your confirmed place stays safe unless and until you accept a new one.
- Explore other universities through Clearing while holding your place; only release it once you’ve secured something you prefer.
- A better-known name isn’t always the better fit. Research or visit before committing — don’t be rushed.
