More about the Modules
MODULE 1 — UCAS APPLICATION
Application advice Our Oxbridge Admissions Advisor, Sophie, will ensure that you clearly understand the timeline associated with the application and interview processes. Sophie will help you to settle on the right course and college, and advise on other universities to consider as back-up options. She will explain in great detail how things work at Cambridge and Oxford, and answer any questions you may have about the application process.
Personal Statement and UCAS application Our Oxbridge Admissions Advisor, Sophie, is an expert with many years’ experience in Personal Statement writing. She will help you to craft a compelling Personal Statement, and guide you carefully through the UCAS application process, including completing the online UCAS form.
Local advantage Your tutors will also be able to share their knowledge about the character and ethos of the various Oxford colleges, and their locations in relation to the academic faculty or department. This information is very useful when choosing a college.
MODULE 2 — ADMISSIONS TEST PREPARATION
You will be coached in the skills needed to score highly in the relevant Admissions Test. Exam technique including timekeeping and strategic approaches will be taught, along with the relevant syllabus content. You will do practice papers under exam conditions, and be given detailed feedback to help you improve.
Cambridge Tutors will be able to advise you where and when the Admissions Test can be taken.
MODULE 3 — ACADEMIC FOUNDATION
Through tutorials which follow the Oxbridge style of teaching, tutors will stretch and extend your knowledge, and help you to bridge the knowledge, skills and understanding gap between Sixth Form study and 1stYear Undergraduate study. Based around the chosen course at Cambridge or Oxford, tutorials will aim to develop vital skills including critical thinking and the ability to engage coherently and succinctly. You will be expected to undertake guided recommended reading and occasional written tasks between sessions.
MODULE 4 — ACADEMIC EXTENSION
Tutorials will include more advanced academic content, and will develop vital skills including a focus on technical language, writing skills, and critical thinking. You will grow in confidence, and learn to express your thoughts clearly and concisely, and to demonstrate your depth of knowledge and understanding.
MODULE 5 — CRITICAL THINKING AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS
In these tutorials you will learn to think critically, to think aloud, to think on your feet. You will learn to weigh up facts and arguments and decide quickly which are important and relevant, and make logical deductions from them. You will practise analysing information in various situations in order to make progress towards an answer to a question or a solution to a problem.
MODULE 6 — INTERVIEW PRACTICE
You will be provided with mock interview scenarios and full mock interviews. These experiences will expose you to the pressure and demands of your final interview. Academic knowledge, subject-specific awareness and a range of skills will be needed. You will receive detailed feedback and guidance on developing your interview technique. One of the ways we help students to improve is by recording mock interviews and then reviewing them constructively together.

My tutor’s personal and thorough teaching style has been without a doubt a deciding factor towards my being accepted to study at Imperial. He is an excellent teacher and a life mentor who will undoubtedly guide any student towards reaching his/her full potential, inspiring confidence and ultimately excellence.

Just to let you know that I was offered a place from Queen’s College, Cambridge today. I’m over the moon and a little bit shocked! Thank you so much for all your help with interviews and the TSA — I couldn’t have got in without it!
—Student (A-level)
I was transformed from an average student to a prize-winner in less than a year. My tutor was comfortable explaining both basic and complex concepts – in both areas his enthusiasm for the subject is plain to see, through his genuinely passionate teaching style.

We are delighted that our son has been made an offer to read Maths at his choice of college, Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He said he enjoyed the Oxbridge Interview Preparation Day, and that the interviews were the most representative of his Maths interview at Cambridge. Thank you very much for giving him the advice and confidence to go in feeling prepared and to perform at his best on the day.

Nathan’s tutoring for both the NSAA and Cambridge interview gave the right balance between actual understanding and answering questions. As well as the hour tutorials, Nathan wrote solutions for mock NSAA papers, sent me practice interview questions, and gave regular summaries of my progress. With an offer for Natural Sciences at Cambridge, I can certainly recommend Cambridge Tutors.

The SATs tutorials with Marcus and Tim were very helpful. I scored a 740/800 for Physics and 800/800 for Math. The experience was great, they are great tutors and great people and they really helped me a lot.
