The Summer School courses are designed to bring Oxford and Cambridge to the student’s home and give them access to exceptional tutors from the world’s leading universities. It offers a range of the most popular university courses for students to choose from:
To replicate university-style learning, students are taught in small-group seminars (maximum 6 in a group), lectures and one-on-one tutorials. Using an open and friendly platform, students will benefit from diverse teaching methods and work one-on-one with top academics from Oxford and Cambridge; they will engage in student-led projects and collaborate across disciplines. Tutors will be available to answer questions and to share their personal experiences of life as an undergraduate.
Subject courses offer intensive study as they are designed to stretch students academically and to develop their curiosity and knowledge, while encouraging independent learning beyond the live lessons. Students complete a piece of work during the programme, which is marked and discussed in a one-on-one Oxbridge-style tutorial, and all students receive a certificate on completion of the course.
The Summer School is not simply a series of online lessons – it is an immersive Virtual College complete with Porter’s Lodge, café area and lecture theatres. It provides the best parts of a College community to give participants a real taste of student life at a top UK university. Coffee breaks and breakout discussions mimic the College experience, giving students the chance to socialise with fellow students as part of their daily study. The week culminates at our Awards Ceremony, where we celebrate the successes of our students and give special recognition to those who have excelled during the programme. All students will receive a written report by their tutor, and a personalised certificate of completion.
In addition to high-level subject tuition, students undertake a programme that supports the through the competitive university admissions system. Through live workshops and lectures, students are guided through the application process – from choosing a course to mock interviews – by the expert team at Oxford and Cambridge Tutors. Students are led by tutors with personal experience of the process, as well as Sophie, a former Oxford University Admissions Officer.
